Privacy policy

Effective 12 October 2026

Screenbucket doesn't collect, store or share any data about you. Your screenshots stay on your Mac.

What Screenbucket reads

Screenbucket reads only the screenshots in the folder you choose. It recognises the text in them, writes short captions and builds a search index, all on your Mac. Its library is kept in the app's own folder on your Mac and is removed when you delete the app.

What leaves your Mac

Nothing. Screenbucket has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it doesn't send your screenshots, captions or searches anywhere. The App Store version's caption and search models are downloaded by macOS from Apple's servers after you install it, the same way the app itself is.

Third parties

Screenbucket shares no data with anyone. Apple's own privacy policy covers the App Store and its downloads.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
